  • Performed systems and process engineering in support of a private company constructing an $85 million medical isotope production facility. Interfaced with subcontracting engineers and consulting firms dealing with NRC licensing and construction tasks.

Assistant Researcher

  • Running production calculations of the BUCKY 1-D radiation hydrodynamics simulation software in support of the High Average Power Laser (HAPL) reactor design project sponsored by Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and the Laser Inertial Fusion Energy (LIFE) reactor design project sponsored by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).
  • Evaluation of the Comsol finite element multiphysics code for modeling dielectric wall accelerator (DWA) proton radiotherapy devices.
  • Performing analysis of MCNP5 simulations of subcritical aqueous tank fission reactors for medical isotope production using the VisIt 3-D visualization tool.
  • Running existing equation of state (EOS) and opacity codes and developing new software for
    performing these calculations
